Is my data secure? How Fineyo handles your data

Fineyo has no accounts, no bank logins, and no servers storing your finances. Learn where your data lives, what we never see, and how to lock the app.

Your finances are personal, and Fineyo is built to keep them that way. There are no Fineyo accounts, no bank logins, and no Fineyo servers storing your transactions. Your data lives on your iPhone and in your own private iCloud, and we can't see it.

Where your data is stored

  • On your iPhone. Transactions, accounts, budgets, categories, and receipt photos are stored in a database on your device.
  • In your own iCloud. If you turn on iCloud backup, copies go to your iCloud Drive, which only your Apple Account can access.
  • Shared spaces use Apple's iCloud sharing. Their data is stored in the space owner's iCloud and moves only between members' devices and Apple. See Spaces.

That's it. Your financial data is never sent to Fineyo or anyone else, and we never sell it.

What we never see

  • Your transactions, amounts, balances, budgets, notes, payees, or receipts.
  • Your bank details. Fineyo never connects to your bank. You add transactions yourself, by voice, or with Shortcuts automations.
  • What you say to Fineyo AI. Apple Intelligence turns your words into transactions on your iPhone.
  • Your name, email, or Apple Account details. There's nothing to sign up for.

What the app does send

To keep Fineyo running smoothly, the app sends a small amount of technical information. None of it contains your financial data.

  • Anonymous usage statistics, such as which features are used (for example, that a widget was added) and whether you have Fineyo Pro. Stored in the EU.
  • Crash reports, with technical details when something goes wrong, so we can fix it.
  • Purchase checks. When you buy or restore Fineyo Pro, the App Store confirms your plan. Apple handles all payments, so we never see your card details.
  • Exchange rate requests, which only include the currency codes you use.

Usage statistics and crash reports are tied to a random identifier, not your name or email.

Extra protection on your iPhone

  • Face ID or Touch ID lock. Go to Settings → Privacy and turn on Use Face ID (or Use Touch ID). Fineyo then asks you to unlock it every time you open it.
  • Hide amounts. Go to Settings → Appearance and turn on Hide amounts to blur amounts in the app, handy when someone's looking over your shoulder. Widgets still show amounts, so choose your Lock Screen widgets accordingly.

Good to know

  • Deleting Fineyo removes its data from that iPhone. Your iCloud backups stay in iCloud Drive until you delete them in Settings → iCloud backup.
  • Shared spaces are visible to everyone you invite, so only share with people you trust.
  • CSV exports are created on your iPhone. Where they go next is up to you.

What if I lose my iPhone?

Turn on iCloud backup (Fineyo Pro) so you can restore everything on a new device, and turn on the Face ID lock so nobody else can open Fineyo. Your iCloud data is protected by your Apple Account.

Every expense. Sorted in seconds.
