The spending map puts your transactions on a map and groups them by place, so you can see which shops, cafés, and restaurants cost you the most.
The spending map is part of Fineyo Pro.
Add locations to your transactions
Only transactions with a location show up on the map. There are three ways to add one:
- Automatically: go to Settings and turn on Auto-location. New transactions you add in Fineyo get your current location.
- By hand: when adding or editing a transaction, tap Location and pick a place.
- From automations: in Settings → Shortcuts, turn on Add location to save where you were when an Apple Pay or bank notification automation logs a payment.
Fineyo asks for location access the first time. Transactions added with Siri, Shortcuts, or your Apple Watch don't get a location.
Open the spending map
- Go to Settings and turn on Auto-location, then allow location access.
- Tap Map on the Spending map card on Overview. Or on Transactions, open the menu and choose Spending map.
- Choose a Period (This week, This month, This year, or All time) and switch between Expenses and Income.
- Tap a place to see its Total, average, Last visit, and every transaction there.
The map opens on the same period you're looking at on Overview, including past periods. Tap All places to go back to the list.
From a place, you can edit, duplicate, or delete its transactions. Use the menu to add a transaction or hide amounts.
The Spending map card
The Spending map card on Overview shows your top 3 places for the period, with how much you spent at each. Tap Map to open the full map.
How places are grouped
- Transactions with the same place name, at the same spot, add up to one place. Two branches of the same chain stay separate.
- Places are sorted by total, largest first.
- Upcoming recurring transactions don't show until their day.
- The map shows the space you're using.
Free vs Fineyo Pro
The spending map, Auto-location, and Add location for automations are part of Fineyo Pro. On the free plan, the card and the menu entry open the Fineyo Pro screen.
The map follows your own plan, not the space owner's. In a shared space, members on the free plan see it locked, even when the owner has Fineyo Pro. Auto-location and Add location also follow your own plan.
If Fineyo Pro ends, locations already saved on your transactions stay. Auto-location pauses and turns back on if you subscribe again.
Troubleshooting
My spending map says "No places yet". No transactions in this period have a location. Turn on Settings → Auto-location, or add a location to a transaction by hand. Try a longer period, like All time.
New transactions don't get a location. Check that Auto-location is on and that Fineyo is allowed to use your location in your iPhone's Settings → Privacy & Security → Location Services.
A payment from the Apple Pay automation has no location. Turn on Add location in Settings → Shortcuts. Fineyo needs a location fix within a few seconds of the payment. If it can't get one, the payment is saved without a location.
The same shop shows up twice. The two transactions have slightly different place names or locations. Edit one so the Location matches the other.
