Fineyo can nudge you at the right moments: a reminder to log your spending, a recap of the day, a heads-up before bills, and a report at the end of each month. Pick the ones you want in Settings → Notifications.
Turn on notifications
- Go to Settings → Notifications.
- Turn on Enable notifications and allow them when iOS asks.
- Tap Preview notification to check they arrive.
- Choose which notifications you want and when.
If notifications are blocked for Fineyo in your iPhone's Settings, Fineyo shows a button to open Settings and fix it.
The notifications
| Notification | When | Default |
|---|---|---|
| Daily reminder | Every day at the time you choose. Tap it to add a transaction. | 18:00 |
| Daily summary | Each evening you've spent something | On, at 21:00 |
| Recurring reminder | The day before a recurring payment | On |
| Monthly report ready | The 1st of each month, at 10:00 | On |
Daily summary
A quick recap of what you spent today compared with yesterday, like "Total spent: €42.50, which is €8.20 lower than yesterday."
- It's only sent on days you've spent something.
- It covers the space you're using, in your main currency. Transfers and excluded transactions aren't counted.
- Transactions added with Siri, Shortcuts, or your Apple Watch are included.
- With Hide amounts on, the summary leaves out the numbers.
Change the time under Summary time.
Recurring reminders
A "Coming up tomorrow" notification before each recurring payment, across all your spaces. Daily repeats don't send reminders. See Recurring transactions.
Monthly reports
On the 1st of each month, Fineyo puts together a report of how the previous month went. Open it from the notification, the "report is ready" card on Overview, or the Monthly reports card, which links to all past reports.
Each report shows:
- What you spent, earned, and kept, with your savings rate, compared with the month before and your recent average
- What went well and what needs attention
- Ideas to improve, based on your spending
- Your spending pace through the month
- Where your money went, by category
- How each monthly budget did
- By the numbers: transaction count, average spend, no-spend days, busiest day, and top payee
Reports always reflect your current data, so if you edit or import older transactions, past reports update too.
Free vs Fineyo Pro: the latest report is free. Fineyo Pro unlocks every past month. This follows your own plan, so in a shared space you need your own Pro for older reports, even if the owner has it.
Troubleshooting
I'm not getting any notifications. Check that Enable notifications is on in Fineyo and notifications are allowed for Fineyo in your iPhone's Settings. Focus modes and Scheduled Summary can also hold notifications back. Tap Preview notification to test.
I didn't get my daily summary. It's only sent on days you've spent something in the current space. If you added your first expense after the summary time, it won't be sent that day.
The daily summary shows an old total. The summary is prepared ahead of time. If you added transactions on another device, open Fineyo on this iPhone once so it can catch up.
I didn't get a monthly report notification. It's only sent if you logged something that month. You can still open the report from the Monthly reports card on Overview.
I can't open an older report. Older reports need Fineyo Pro. The latest one is always free.
