Wondering how the month is going? Just ask. Siri reads out the answer and shows a small summary card, and you never have to open Fineyo.
You'll need: Fineyo Pro, iOS 16 or later, and Fineyo opened at least once (and again after each update). Adding expenses with Siri is free.
What you can ask
There's nothing to set up. Here are some examples in English:
Spending
- "How much did I spend in Fineyo?"
- "How much did I spend last month in Fineyo?"
- "How much did I spend on Groceries in Fineyo?"
Income
- "How much did I earn in Fineyo?"
- "What is my income in Fineyo?"
Savings (income minus expenses)
- "How much have I saved in Fineyo?"
- "How much did I save this month in Fineyo?"
Net worth (the total of all your accounts)
- "What is my net worth in Fineyo?"
- "How much money do I have in Fineyo?"
Budgets
- "How are my Fineyo budgets?"
- "How much is left in my Groceries budget in Fineyo?"
You'll find the full list in the app under Settings → Siri → Ask about your money.
Choosing a period
You can add today, this week, last week, this month, last month, this year, or last year. If you don't, spending and income cover this month, and savings cover this year. Weeks start on the day you chose in Fineyo.
What Siri tells you
- Spending: your total for the period, plus your top three categories on the card. Asking about a category includes its subcategories.
- Income: your total earned, with your top three income categories.
- Savings: how much you kept, or how much more you spent than you earned.
- Net worth: the total across all accounts, with each balance on the card.
- Budgets: name a budget to hear what's left (or how far over you are). Ask without a name to hear how many budgets are on track.
Use the answers in your own shortcuts
Each question is also an action in the Shortcuts app: Get spending, Get income, Get savings, Get net worth, and Check budget. They return a number you can use elsewhere. For example, a shortcut could warn you when this week's spending passes a limit you set.
Good to know
- Same numbers as your widgets. Amounts are in your main currency and match your widgets and Apple Watch. Transfers, transactions marked Exclude from analytics, and upcoming recurring transactions aren't counted.
- Active space. Siri answers for the space that's open in Fineyo.
- New names. Siri learns category and budget names when you open Fineyo. After adding or renaming one, open the app once.
- Language. Siri understands these phrases in its own language (set in your iPhone's Settings → Apple Intelligence & Siri), even if Fineyo uses another one.
Troubleshooting
Siri says "Answers about your money are part of Fineyo Pro." Asking Siri about your money needs Fineyo Pro. If you already have it, open Fineyo once so Siri knows, then ask again.
Siri says "Open Fineyo once, then try again." Fineyo was just updated, or your iPhone hasn't been unlocked since it restarted. Open Fineyo, then ask again.
Siri doesn't recognize a category or budget. Open Fineyo so Siri picks up the latest names, then say the name exactly as it appears in the app, without emoji. You can also use the Shortcuts action and pick the category from a list.
"You don't have any accounts / budgets in Fineyo yet." Net worth needs at least one account, and budget questions need at least one budget in the open space.
