Quick add with Back Tap and the Action Button

Add an expense in a second by tapping the back of your iPhone, pressing the Action Button, or using Quick add in Control Center.

The fastest expense is the one you log right away. Fineyo gives you a few ways to do it from anywhere, without hunting for the app:

All of these are free.

Step 1: Create a Fineyo shortcut

Back Tap and the Action Button run a shortcut, so make one first.

  1. Open the Shortcuts app (or in Fineyo, go to Settings → Shortcuts → Quick Add and tap Open Shortcuts).
  2. Tap +, search for Fineyo, and add an action:
    • Add expense or Add income if you always log the same type.
    • Add transaction to choose each time.
  3. Optionally fill in a category, account, or note so the shortcut asks for less.
  4. Tap Done.

Step 2: Assign it to Back Tap

  1. Open the Settings app and go to Accessibility → Touch → Back Tap.
  2. Choose Double Tap or Triple Tap.
  3. Scroll to Shortcuts and select your Fineyo shortcut.

Tip: Triple Tap is less likely to go off by accident.

Or assign it to the Action Button

  1. Open the Settings app and tap Action Button.
  2. Swipe until you reach Shortcut.
  3. Tap Choose a Shortcut and select your Fineyo shortcut.

Now press and hold the Action Button anywhere, even inside another app, to log a transaction.

Tip: Make two shortcuts, one for expenses and one for income, and give each its own trigger. For example, the Action Button for expenses and Triple Tap for income.

Quick add in Control Center and on the Lock Screen

The Quick add button opens Fineyo's transaction form with Expense, Income, or Transfer already selected. No shortcut needed, and it's the quickest way to start a transfer.

Control Center (iOS 18 or later)

  1. Open Control Center and tap + in the top-left corner.
  2. Tap Add a Control, search for Fineyo, and choose Quick add.
  3. While still editing, tap the control to choose Expense, Income, or Transfer.

Lock Screen button (iOS 18 or later)

  1. Touch and hold the Lock Screen, tap Customize, then Lock Screen.
  2. Remove one of the bottom buttons (like the flashlight), tap +, and add Quick add from Fineyo.

Lock Screen widget

  1. Touch and hold the Lock Screen, tap Customize, then Lock Screen.
  2. Tap the widget area, find Fineyo, and add Quick add.
  3. Tap the widget to choose its type. The wide version also shows today's total.

Shortcut or Quick add?

  • A shortcut (Back Tap, Action Button) asks for the details and saves the transaction without opening Fineyo.
  • Quick add opens Fineyo's full transaction form, so you can add photos, tags, and more, or start a transfer.

Troubleshooting

Back Tap doesn't do anything. Tap firmly near the Apple logo. A thick case can get in the way. Check that your shortcut is still selected in Settings → Accessibility → Touch → Back Tap.

I don't see Action Button in Settings. It's only on iPhone 15 Pro and later. Use Back Tap instead.

My Fineyo shortcut isn't in the list. Make sure you tapped Done in the Shortcuts app so it was saved.

"Couldn't save the transaction." Open Fineyo once and try again. This can happen right after an update or a restart.

Every expense. Sorted in seconds.
