The Fineyo Apple Watch app shows how your spending is going at a glance, and lets you log an expense or income right from your wrist, even when your iPhone is in another room.
You'll need: an Apple Watch with watchOS 10 or later, paired with the iPhone where you use Fineyo. The watch shows data from your iPhone, so set up Fineyo there first.
Set up Fineyo on your watch
- Install Fineyo on your iPhone and finish setting it up.
- If the app doesn't appear on your watch by itself, open the Watch app on your iPhone, go to My Watch → Available Apps, and tap Install next to Fineyo.
- Open Fineyo on your iPhone once, keep it nearby, then open Fineyo on your watch. Your data loads within a few seconds.
Find your way around
Fineyo opens on the overview. Swipe left or right to switch between three screens:
- Recent (left): your latest transactions. Tap one for its details.
- Overview (middle): scroll or turn the Digital Crown to move through:
- Summary: how much you've spent this period compared with the last, with a chart and your income. Tap the period to switch between today, this week, this month, and this year.
- Categories: where your money went.
- Budgets: how much of each budget is used and what's left.
- Accounts: your total balance and each account.
- Upcoming: your next recurring payments.
- Settings (right): watch preferences and sync status.
Budgets, Accounts, and Upcoming appear only when you have something to show there.
Add a transaction from your wrist
- Tap + in the top corner, or use a Quick add complication.
- Type the amount and tap the arrow.
- Pick a category. Use the Expense / Income switch to change the type.
- Tap the checkmark to save. Before that, you can change the note, account, payee, tags, date, time, or currency.
Your iPhone's default account, payee, and tags are filled in for you. If you've set a travel currency on your iPhone, new transactions use it.
No iPhone nearby? No problem
You can add transactions even when your iPhone is out of range or switched off. They wait safely on the watch, marked Waiting for iPhone, and are sent automatically once your iPhone is back in range. They won't be added twice, and they already count in the watch's totals.
Watch settings
Swipe to Settings on the watch to:
- Choose which account new transactions use: the same as your iPhone, none, or a specific one.
- Choose the period the Summary shows, or keep it the same as your iPhone.
- Check Sync status and tap Sync now.
- See which space and currency your iPhone is using.
Everything else, including currency, language, accent color, week start, and the active space, follows Fineyo on your iPhone. To see a different space on the watch, switch spaces on your iPhone.
Free vs Fineyo Pro
- Free: adding transactions, Summary, and Recent.
- Fineyo Pro: also the Categories, Budgets, Accounts, and Upcoming pages. Without Pro, these are blurred.
The watch can't sell subscriptions. Upgrade in Fineyo on your iPhone, and the watch unlocks on its next sync. See Fineyo Pro.
Good to know
- The watch shows a summary, not your full history: up to 25 recent transactions, 6 top categories, 10 budgets, and 10 upcoming payments.
- Hidden categories aren't offered when adding on the watch.
- The watch updates when you open Fineyo on your iPhone, when you add or change transactions there, and when you open the watch app with your iPhone nearby.
Troubleshooting
The watch says "Waiting for iPhone." The watch hasn't received data yet. Keep your iPhone nearby and unlocked, open Fineyo on it, then tap Try again on the watch. Check that Bluetooth is on.
The watch says "Finish setting up Fineyo." Open Fineyo on your iPhone and complete the setup.
The watch says "Open Fineyo on iPhone." Fineyo on your iPhone was updated and needs to be opened once. Until then, the watch shows your last data and keeps any transactions you add.
The data on my watch is out of date. Open Fineyo on your iPhone, then on the watch go to Settings → Sync now. If it says Not nearby, bring your devices closer together.
A transaction from my watch isn't on my iPhone. It's still waiting to be sent. Check Waiting to sync in the watch settings, then open Fineyo on your iPhone with the watch nearby.
Some pages are blurred even though I have Pro. Open Fineyo on your iPhone so it can send your Pro status to the watch.
